Sweden will allow some migrants arriving as unaccompanied minors and turned 18 during their application for asylum, to stay even if their application was denied — a rare easing of rules enforced at the peak of the 2015 migration crisis, according to Reuters. In 2015, more than 160,000 people applied for asylum in Sweden with more than 30,000 of them being unaccompanied minors, the report said. The influx of migrants overwhelmed the migration authority and prompted a huge backlog of cases.
